As a community-based non-profit organization, Mental Health Kokua (MHK) is honored to provide a learning environment. Students consistently find MHK to be a rewarding experience, and we gain from your fresh ideas and experiences.
In order to provide you with the meaningful experience you desire, as well as to protect the rights of the people we serve, we will need to following information from you prior to beginning your student placement with us:
- A signed academic agreement – this can range from a practicum memorandum to a formal contract.
- The academic agreement should include:
- Expectations or learning objectives.
- Time commitment (e.g., start and stop dates).
- Scope of responsibility.
- Supervision required from MHK.
- Primary contact person with your school and at MHK.
Once determined that MHK is right for you, we require the following.
- An employment application or résumé.
- Evidence of completing the MHK orientation.
- Criminal background check
- Drug screening.
- Review MHK confidentiality policies.
