MHK's Annual Meeting
MHK held its annual meeting on March 24, 2012 at the Waikiki Yacht
club (compliments of John Humphrey with Lincoln Financial). More than 75 people representing, board, consumers, providers, staff, insurance companies, and TV stations attended. Our keynote speaker was Marya Grambs, Executive Director from Mental Health America. Two videos: "MHK Annual Outcome Report" and “Years of Darkness” by Tom Vendetti were presented.

At the opening session of the American Psychiatric Association Meeting on Sunday, May 15, 2011, Dr. Carol Bernstein presented Mental Health Kokua with a check for $5,600. That amount increased to $7,000 by Thursday, May 19, 2011.

Special thanks to Kamehameha School Maui Campus Girl Scout Troop 140 who provided 50 holiday gifts for the residents of MHK Maui residential services. Marina Tronolone (MHK Residential Services Coordinator) and Frank Cummings (Maui County Services Director) welcome the troop with MHK residents, who explained to the Girl Scouts what is mental illness, and how MHK residential services helps people become independent.
Above & Beyond Award
Safe Haven was proud to nominate The United States Air Force, Hickam Air Force Base Hawaii for the “Above & Beyond Award” for November 2009.

For more than a decade Mike has quietly coordinated donations for holiday meals for Mental Health Kokua. It is estimated that St. Paul’s parishioners are responsible for contributing more than 500 MHK holiday meals. Bank of Hawaii Gives to MHK
Mental Health Kokua received a grant of $5,000 from the Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation to support Group Home Repairs and Renovations in Hilo and Kona. Mahalo!
